Just a quick short review, sorry!
So this is an older movie. Into the Wild is the story of Christopher McCandless. Emile Hirsch is the lead actor play Mr. McCandless. The movie starts with McCandless graduating college and getting ready for law school. He does, however, have a complete different idea. You can feel tension between him and his parents as well as a desire to break away from the mold that he was forced to live by. McCandless decides to take off and live off nature, leaving the cares of society behind him. Along the way he meets several different people, he met a hippy couple, an old war vet and a young girl hoping to be a musician. You can see the affect he had on these people. He was the son that one missed and the other lost. He was the friend that one needed. He was the inspiration they all took from. Once McCandless reached Alaska he lived off the land, finding his own food, hunting...completely going back to nature. This movie taught me several things. It showed me how dependent people are with "things"; Cars, money, with how convenient things were in society. It made me realize that we sometimes don't find the beauty in life, and that we worry so much about things that don't need to be worried about. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie, you can't possibly leave this movie without some inspiration. |
