I forgot to mention the winner will be able to put "winner of bughouse haiku contest" on their resume, which I personally guarantee* will get you a great job!

all participants will receive partipaction awards!

*guarantee is completely void and meaningless.

Is Bughouse dying?
Death is a new beginning-
and resurrection.

Can one ever use
iambic pentameter
in a haiku poem?

--------------------
"I have served my country; I have done my duty. I have tasted fear and confronted death; I have fought with honor and survived with dignity, and now take my liberty." - Joe Hertel

"To go to school for four years, or six, is no proof of excellence; any more than to fail in an examination is proof of incompetence. The giving of degrees and diplomas to people who have done no useful things is puerile and absurd, since degrees so secured are no proof of competence, and tend to inflate the holder with the idea that he is some great one when, probably, he isn't. All degrees should be honorary, and be given for meritorious service to society-that is, for doing something useful for somebody." -Elbert Hubbard

"I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen it's brutality, it's futility, it's stupidity." - Dwight D. Eisenhower

a haiku's a wonderful form
for sharing a thought that is warm
but a limerick is slicker
and oftentimes quicker
and certainly far from the norm

D'OH!

it's supposed to be a haiku okay okay . Umm...

obsession drives us
to make mountains from molehills
and haiku's from naught

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires and lights in a box. There is a great and perhaps decisive battle to be fought against ignorance, intolerance and indifference. This weapon of television could be useful. -Edward R. Murrow
